Each year, Alive & Running sponsors a two day event on Father's Day weekend. Friday night consists of a remembrance ceremony to honor and remember those who have ended their lives by suicide. Saturday morning is a 5K run/walk. Over 1000 people attend these events from as many as 13 states!! This year, these events are not able to be held because of COVID-19 restrictions. Instead of canceling, the event has been made virtual.  All of the normal Friday night activities will be pre-recorded and released on YouTube that night. Saturday morning, the opening ceremonies will be released on YouTube and people will run/walk wherever they are. You are encouraged to share your photos on social media to create some type of togetherness. With these changes, there will not be an actual race registration. Instead, for the first time ever, an online store is being offered for people to order shirts. They can be shipped or picked up locally in Cedar Falls. The shipping charge is $12 PER ORDER so you are encouraged to order in bulk with family and friends.
