A Message from our pastor:

A popular song from several years ago proclaimed "Our God is an awesome God!"  Here at First Baptist Church, we wholeheartedly agree with that truth.  God is at work here, and He's doing things that many of us haven't seen for a long time.  We are so blessed to be seeing more young families become active, and that means there are lots of children!  Our hope and future lie first and foremost in Christ, but then we rely on the presence of children to indicate that the life of the congregation will continue to thrive.
All this new life reminds us that new life is freely given to everyone who repents and trusts in Jesus, the risen Savior.  Our mission is to glorify God by making Christ known, beginning here in Dunkerton.  Our hope is that we can demonstrate the love of Christ to everyone whom we meet.  John 11:25-26 records these words of Jesus, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die."  I invite you to trust in Jesus today, and join us in our journey of eternal life.

Two ways to live: The choice we all face

Finally, all the pieces of the puzzle have come together!  As of December 1, 2009, First Baptist Church is the sponsor church of Community Baptist Church in Marion, Iowa.  Pastor Darin Ulmer is leading the new congregation.  Already, He has done many amazing things to bring about the birth of this church, and we are blessed to be a part of it all.
