Welcome to First Baptist, a place where you can get plugged in, powered up, and prepared for life's journey toward heaven. We are a Southern Baptist Church, filled with imperfect people, served by an imperfect pastor, and excited to be worshiping a perfect and holy God! Jesus Christ is our Savior and our motto is Making Christ Known.
Come as you are. Some might be in a suit and tie (rarely), while others are in blue jeans. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9:00 AM, and our worship service begins at 10:00 AM.
Here's what to expect: Our pastor will open with a quick welcome and then we enter into God's presence with corporate prayer. Prayer requests and praises are shared and then we join together in worship through lifting up these needs and thanksgiving to God.
Our worship team leads us in song, and since we don't have a full band, we use soundtracks. Join in as God leads or just sit back and sense His presence.
One of our elders will then lead us through the happenings (announcements - opportunities to get plugged in), we'll worship God with our tithes and offerings (guests - we don't want your money - that's family business!), and then Scripture will be read... typically from the Psalms.
Our pastor then preaches a message which lasts around 25-35 minutes, and we'll close the service with a song, a benediction, and a closing prayer.
Feel free to hang out afterwards for some fellowship - there's no need to rush home.
On Tuesday mornings there is a women's bible study at 9:30 AM, and the men meet for food, fellowship, faith, and fun on Saturday mornings at 7:00 AM.
During the school year our church hosts one of the largest Awana clubs in the state. From September - April on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:15 PM this place is filled with laughter, scripture memorization, games, and great counsel time messages.
